Random Thoughts On Women's Day

Today is 8th March, International Women's Day.
This morning one male friend sent me women’s day greetings quoting Merilyn Monroe, “Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition”. After getting the quote I wished I had slapped my friend with making sound of “thash thash thash”. May be my wishes were too brutal. Yet I couldn't help myself expressing it. My first thought was if I wanted to become superior in the male dominated society; if I wanted to kick some ass; what the society would label me? Remember the US president quoted “grab em by the pussy”. I didn't forget it, it haunts me and it will haunt me forever.

One of my friends wrote, “Dear women, a man is matured and changed only when you break his heart. Without a broken heart, he remains a child. Happy International Women's Day...Be bold to break heart”. To my friend, I want to tell you something: a woman walks out of relationships when she is not satisfied, when she is misunderstood, when she feels it insecure. You have to remember evolution and you have to remember natural selection as well. Yet in this modern material world, it’s not always the alpha male who gets the woman. You can be handsome, you can be sexist, full of raging hormones and you can be the person loaded with money. But there are more things in this earth and in this modern time than being an alpha male. Those things are called sensitivity, compassion, love as well as ability to provide security and moreover the ability to understand a woman’s mysterious mind and her needs. So it also goes the other way round.

"Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It is in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me."
 ~~~Maya Angelou
When a woman walks out of relationships due to broken heart, she also becomes mature herself and more brave, more independent. When she is independent and brave enough to be alone of her own, it is difficult for her to fall in love. Because she is intelligent, smart and overly judgmental examining every aspects consciously. For her it’s even more difficult to get into any relationship. If she walks out of that relationship she is often misjudged. If she asks the question, “Did I take any advantage from you? Or being honestly saying her opinion “not able to love” despite her trial and finally give up.  She is labeled as “Selfish woman”.
Is it because she loves herself, her inner thoughts and her independence? Well to me it’s better to be a selfish woman than to lose ones dignity. I love myself, I respect my thoughts and I’m not afraid to express my opinion. I love my independence, I love being me no matter what situation I’m in. I could be a daughter, a friend, a lover, a wife, a mother, a teacher, a doctor, a scientist, an engineer, a fashion-designer, a sportswoman, an office worker etc. If I pitfall, I’ll get up no matter what. This is what defines me to be an independent woman.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Happy Women's Day!!!
